About
My full name is Priscilla Buyisile Msomi-Mbele. I have been registered with the Professional Board of Psychology as a Psychologist for 26 years to date. Prior to that I have studied and worked as a nurse, a midwife, a nurse educator, a nurse administrator, and a Community Health Nurse. I am currently employed as a lecturer at the University of Zululand. I have served at this Institution for 18yrs to date. In my role as an academic I have taught different courses in psychology both at undergraduate and post-graduate levels of study. I have supervised to completion research for 5 Psychological Counsellors, 4 Master’s and 6 PHD graduates in Psychology In addition to my teaching duties, I also co-ordinate the PHD Programme for the department. I have been appointed as an external examiner for 11 Master’s dissertations and 2 Doctoral thesis. I have served as a Panel member for National reviews of five academic programmes in psychology. I serve in different committees of the university viz,. the Faculty Teaching & Learning Committee, Institutional Health & Wellness Committee, and the AQACCOP (Academic Quality Assurance Champions of Community Practice) and the Faculty Board Committee. I believe, and continuously strive to instil an appreciation of self-directed and lifelong learning in all my students
