About
Zanele Gladness Buthelezi is an Associate Professor in the Department of African Languages & Culture at the University of Zululand, South Africa. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy obtained from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is one of the pioneers in publishing academic books on African language matters in isiZulu including Izisekelo Zokulungisa Okubhaliwe: Izinsizakuhlaziya Nokwenziwayo (2022) and, IsiZulu and Social Trandformation (2021) which has academic chapters written in isiZulu thus contributing to intellectualisation of an African language. She is an author of numerous isiZulu schoolbooks, an ANFASA/AGSA Award winner (2018) and a runner-up for the JVET Paper of the year award (2018)
