About
Aghogho began his career in Nigeria where he obtained a diploma in journalism and a BA Hons degree in English and worked briefly in the media, as a school teacher and lecturer. He obtained a second honours degree, a master’s and doctorate in English from the University of Johannesburg. Before coming to Unizulu, Aghogho taught/tutored courses in English literary studies and academic literacies at the University of Johannesburg and the University of the Witwatersrand. He was a research fellow at the Centre for Africa Studies at the University of the Free State from 2013-2016; visiting scholar at the Centre of Postcolonial and Gender Studies, University of Naples L’Orientale, Naples, Italy and the Institute of English Language and Literature, Free University Berlin, Germany in 2019 and 2020. He has published many articles in internationally accredited journals; written book reviews and presented his research in several international and local conferences and symposia. He is an NRF C1 rated researcher.
